Jean Paul Gaultier

“Shock, surprise, everything out of the ordinary I found very beautiful.”

Born in 1952, Jean Paul Gaultier, took refuge as a child in his grandmother’s beauty salon. Self-taught, he was inspired by vaudeville and the cinema: as a teenager, he designed two collections a year and had no qualms about sending his sketches to the great fashion houses in Paris.
Pierre Cardin was his mentor and offered him a job as studio assistant for his eighteenth birthday!
In 1976, he presented his first collection in Paris, where he opened his own haute couture maison a year later. His glasses are objects of premium luxury with a futuristic design, such as the unisex model JPG 58-0271 that can be worn by anyone of any age.
His women’s glasses are exuberant: they often have oversize frames, such as the model JPG SJP 009 matched by the meticulous details on the temples and bridges. Eccentricity for Jean Paul Gaultier was the order of the day, with metal and acetate frames and large aviator lenses, such as the JPG SJP 013, or rectangular frames.
When it is available, we provide Jean Paul Gaultier vintage glasses in their own silver original case with the 3D logo “JPG”, except for those that have deteriorated over time.
