Flair

Flair – a typical german story.

In 1945, in the middle of the postwar period, ambitious entrepreneur Dr. Eugen Beck was looking for a place to start his new business of vulcanizing tires and bicycle inner tubes. After a long and arduous search, he managed to wrest from the Oelde city administration and occupation forces an old air force radio station on the Mackenberg, which became today’s Flairpark. After some time, he met an optical technician who convinced him to give up mechanics and start making eyeglass frames from metal and parts made from cow hooves.  The company began by creating ultralight rimless eyeglasses that conquered the international market. Since then, FLAIR eyeglass frames have been combining tradition, innovation and modernity.
The Flairpark is where designers, goldsmiths and color experts create these masterpieces: located in a protected area, it is an inspiring environment that enhances the sense of beauty and perfection. A process consisting of more than 100 perfectly coordinated work steps is initiated for each new model, culminating in the careful hand finishing of each individual pair of glasses with German values and precision.

When it is available, we provide Flair vintage glasses with their own original case, except for those that have deteriorated over time.
